Graduation in white coat: doctors and pharmacists received their diplomas today. Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of Russia, who also graduated from Ural University, addressed to the young medics via video link. Evgeniy Kuyvashev, governor of Sverdlovsk region, took part in the ceremony.
«Now graduates of our medical university are working in the most responsible positions, occupy leading positions at the Russian and regional level, manage large clinics and perform the most complex operations, serving their high purpose honestly and responsibly».
Last year of these graduates came at a difficult time – the pandemic began. Students replaced doctors who went to work in COVID departments, and residents themselves have had to work in «red» zone. According to the rector, today’s graduates are ready to fight the new coronavirus infection. Special courses and practical training were organized for them during their studies.
Olga Kovtun, rector of Ural State Medical University: «Additional courses were also organized, and guys who worked both in covid and just in medical organizations could face to this infection in any time. Therefore, we believe that our graduates, who are completing their university studies today, are ready to tackle the new coronavirus infection».
