Marian Agabalaeva, student of the Ural state medical university, came up with implants to help hide small bone defects of the skull after neurosurgical operations. «If we are talking about serious bone defects, then titanium plates are used. With their help, you can immediately close large surfaces. We are talking about learning how to hide small defects. For example, in the forehead, that is, where they are especially noticeable. There are no analogues of such implants» says Marian. Now the student is searching for biomaterials for the implants creation. Then she will develop the technical specifications for the products and simulate them using a 3D printer.
