From 16^th to 30^th of July 2021 a scientific and a scientific and clinical internship for international dental students took place at USMU within the framework of the IADS (International Association of Dental Students) program.

Three students from Croatia and Germany visited USMU as part of the international exchange program.

During the traineeship students learned practical aspects of all areas of dental reception of patients – therapeutic, surgical and prosthetic appointments and professional oral hygiene. The students actively assisted in the operations of dental implantation, removal of impacted teeth. The students also tried their hand at being dental technicians – casting, stamping tooth crowns and fitting on models.

The international students were able to practice on phantoms, technoscopes and models under the guidance of the great teachers of the Dentistry Faculty of USMU.

 In their free time, the guests visited the sights of Yekaterinburg and Sverdlovsk region in the company of student-curators of Dentistry Faculty. The students visited the Yeltsin Centre, organised an excursion to the Church on the Blood and Ganina Yama, got to know the fabulous places of the Urals – «Urals Mars» and «Bali of Urals», hike the trail at the national nature park «Oleny Ruchy».

 International students received a lot of impressions, a lot of emotions and professional experience during their two-week internship. The exchange exceeded all expectations in terms of its scale and the richness of the program. All participants were very satisfied and took with them warm memories about Ural State Medical University!
