Hackathon «Digital Medical Solutions» started on at Ural Optical-Mechanical Factory named after E. S. Yalamov in Yekaterinburg. Ural Federal University (UrFU), Ural State Medical University (USMU), SC Rostekh and Union of Machine Builders of Russia are partners of the event.

Teams formed from UrFU and USMU students, as well as exiting engineers and designers of UOMP – 50 people in total, take part in hackathon. During three-days intensive, teams will create innovative product on one of the specified topics, including solution for collecting and transferring data from medical devices, a portable gadget with an ECG definition function, a non-contact device for measuring the patient’s virtual parameters, a Flexible-chamber project or medical information systems for the needs of cardiology.

According to the results of Hackathon, the organizers will choose winners in four nominations: the best engineering, innovative and technological solution, the best elaboration of idea.

Olga Kovtun, Rector of USMU, noted that this unique event joined us with Ural Federal University and our industrial partner – Ural Optical-Mechanical Factory. It is very pleasant that the second hackathon is held at the initiative of UOMP with such range of participants: discoveries are made at the junction of different disciplines. Participating teams began the development of the new modern technologies that will improve the diagnostic process, body monitoring, as well as create new models of medical equipment. There is no doubt that established alliance will be successful».

The competition of students, acting engineers and designers will end on the 29^th of April.
