The Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev approved amendments to the law “On Administrative Offenses in the Territory of Sverdlovsk Region”. Now, residents of the region can be fined for violating the regime of self-isolation. The corresponding document was signed on April 9th and published by the portal of legal information.
The changes take effect on April 10th. Citizens who do not fulfill the requirement of self-isolation can be fined from 3 thousand to 5 thousand rubles. The fine for officials is set from 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles, for legal entities – from 500 thousand rubles to 1 million rubles. The leadership of the Sverdlovsk region had to take such measures to stop the spread of coronavirus infection in Yekaterinburg and the region.
“Our main task in a pandemic of a new coronavirus infection is to protect the Urals. And the measures defined in the relevant Decree of Governor Evgeny Vladimirovich Kuyvashev play a key role in this. They have already shown their effectiveness,” said Lyudmila Babushkina, Chairperson of the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region.
The regime of self-isolation in the region is valid until April 20. According to the rules approved by the decree of the governor, leaving the house is possible only in exceptional cases. These include a trip to work (if the company has not stopped working); shopping for food or medicine at the nearest store and pharmacy; seeking emergency help; taking out the trash; walking a dog within the radius of 100 meters from the house.
