A team of 32 professional psychologists was assembled in Ekaterinburg to help with the coronavirus epidemic. The volunteers team includes teaching staff from the Department of Clinical Psychology and Pedagogy of Ural State Medical University: Konstantin Bulanov and Elena Sorokolat, as well as University graduates.
“Psychologists keep records of those seeking assistance, their age, issues and counseling results. It’s important for us that this was not just a conversation about psychology, we try to make sure that a person at least understands a problem if he does not accept it, ”said Evgenya Naboychenko, the chief freelance clinical psychologist at the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region, Dean of the faculty of psychological and social work of the USMU.
Volunteers also assist doctors who are now working in difficult epidemiological conditions, and provide assistance to those affected by the coronavirus directly. Specialists have already developed a questionnaire for rapid diagnosis of the psychological state of health workers.
