The Head of the Department is the doctor of medical sciences, Professor Nozhkina Natalia Vladimirovna.

The Department of Public health and healthcare was established in 1932. The first head of the Department was Professor, doctor of medical sciences Velichkin Vladimir Ivanovich. Now the Department is headed by Professor, doctor of medical sciences Nozhkina Natalia Vladimirovna.

The Department provides training of students of the faculty of general medicine, pediatrics, preventive medicine, dentistry and pharmaceutical faculty in the subjects “Public health and Healthcare”, “History of Medicine”, “History of Pharmacy”, graduate training in internship, residency and post-graduate course, masters course in “Management of medical organization”, advanced training of doctors.

There is a section of students scientific conference “Management, Economics and organization of health care”, Round-table conferences are held for students with a discussion of the priorities of healthcare, and the role of the Ural scientific schools in the development of science and healthcare.
