Head of the Department Zelentsova Vera Leonidovna, doctor of medical sciences, Professor, pediatrician of highest category, has certifications in pediatrics, nephrology, functional diagnostics (ultrasound), medical genetics. For many years she co-chaired the State assessment commission. Vera Leonidovna is a member of the Dissertation Council on the specialty “Pediatrics. Cardiology. Internal diseases”, the Chairman of the Union of USMU. In 2003 she successfully defended her doctoral thesis “Nephropathy in perinatal period, peruliarities of the course, the outcomes.” She combined scientific activity with work as the Deputy chief physician of DGB №10 for clinical work, for many years she performed the functions of chief external children’s nephrologist UZ of Yekaterinburg. Vera Leonidovna is the author of 152 scientific and research, educational and methodical papers (including 12 articles in peer-reviewed journals), 1 book, 2 patents, she is a co-author of 2 manuals approved by the Ministry of health of the Russian Federation. Under her guidance 2 PhD theses were defended, 2 theses are currently in progress. V. L. Zelentsova delivers lectures on many topics of pediatrics and conducts workshops with students of the faculty of general medicine and physicians.
