The Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Evgeny Kuyvashev, signed an ordinance on awarding premium to some professors of universities.

The only recipient of the premium “Special award in the development of higher education in the Sverdlovsk region” was the president of the Ural State Medical University (USMU) Sergei Kutepov. Sergey is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a specialist in the field of Traumatology and orthopedics. He was rector of USMU from 2005 till 2017.

Among the professors of the year was Alexandra Shubina, assistant of the Department of Dermatovenerology and Life Safety. It is worth to note that Evgenia Gurkovskaya, associate professor of the same department, received this award for 2019 year.

The award ceremony usually takes place in January, on the occasion of the Day of Russian Students. In total, 13 professors from universities in the region will be awarded with the Governor’s Premium for 2020.
