On November 24, at the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy of the Ural State Medical University, the XI intra-university stage of the XXXI All-Russian (Moscow) Student Olympiad in Surgery named after I.I. Academician M.I. Perelman. The competition was attended by students of 2-6 courses of medical and preventive and pediatric faculties. 33 teams demonstrated their knowledge and skills in seven areas: abdominal surgery, urology, gynecology, endovideosurgery, traumatology, cardiovascular surgery and neurosurgery. Students started preparing for the Olympiad back in September, and in recent weeks they devoted all their free time to it. Invaluable assistance in organizing and holding competitions was provided by the senior students: Sysueva D.D., Vozzhaev K.A., Pshenichny R.R., Karimov R.A., Chernomortsev D.A. The jury included: cafe MD Antoniadi Yu.V., MD, prof. Mikhailov A.V., MD Makaryan A.A., Candidate of Medical Sciences, Assoc. Lazarev A.Yu., Ph.D. Bogdanova A.M., senior teachers of the department Shanygin A.A., Sharova S.A., Subbotin A.V., Dmitrieva E.G. also participated in the conduct and evaluation of competitions. The participants of the Olympiad demonstrated not only a high level of surgical skills and theoretical material, but also the ability to work in a team, which is an integral part of the work of a doctor. The teams that won the first places will represent the university at the regional stage of the Olympiad in Surgery. We congratulate the winners, wish them success and new victories!
