President of the Ural State Medical University (USMU) Sergei Kutepov and assistant of the Department of Dermatovenereology and Life Safety of USMU Alexandra Shubina became recipients of the Sverdlovsk Region Governor Fellowship. The award ceremony was traditionally held on the Day of Russian Students.
Sergey Kutepov received an award in the category “For special merits in the development of higher education in the Sverdlovsk region.” Sergey Mikhailovich is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a specialist in the field of traumatology and orthopedics, in 2005 – 2017. – Rector of USMU. Alexandra Shubina became the teacher of the year.
Evgeny Kuyvashev presented the diplomas of the laureates of the Sverdlovsk Region Governor Fellowship to the teachers of the region’s higher educational institutions.
The Governor thanked for the great contribution of each laureate to strengthening the prestige of the Ural higher education, training valuable specialists for the regional economy:
“Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has declared 2021 in our country as the Year of Science and Technology, thereby emphasizing “the value of the work of people who follow the unbeaten path and enrich us with new knowledge and pass it on to young generations.” I am sure that the representatives of the Ural higher education will continue to make a significant contribution to strengthening the technological leadership of Russia, strengthening the connection between education, science and industry. “
Evgeny Kuyvashev added that supporting education and science is a key priority for the government of the Sverdlovsk region. The national project “Science” is being implemented in the region, the region is one of the leading regions of Russia in research and development. A serious achievement was the creation on the basis of the Ural Federal University of an interregional scientific and educational center of the world level “Advanced production technologies and materials”.
The Governor emphasized that the award is awarded based on the vote of the professional community, therefore, it is of particular value. The laureates of the awards, in turn, noted the high role of the regional leadership in the formation of the scientific infrastructure and support for education.
In total, 61 applicants from 15 universities submitted materials for the competition. Thirteen residents of Sverdlovsk received the prize of the Governor of Sverdlovsk Steel.
