During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ural State Medical University faced serious challenges. We had to urgently transfer the educational process to remote teaching mode. Students and staff were sent to self-isolation, to study and work from home. Reorganization, especially in a short time, demanded great patience and endurance from all. Our international students and students of preparatory courses had the most difficult situation. They stayed to live and study in dormitories in conditions of self-isolation.

The administration of the Ural State Medical University, the dean’s office of international students from the first days of quarantine, have been actively working to support these students. In order to prevent the disease, non-disposable medical masks and sanitary liquid were given to the students. Also volunteer assistance was organized. International students-volunteers Benhrab Ualid and Ahmed Sami, dean of the dean’s office of international students Ksenia Mitrofanova did not stand aside. They help international friends to deliver water, food from the store, hot lunches. However, the most important thing is that our students feel the care and support.
