97% of professors are vaccinated against a new coronavirus infection in Ural State Medical University. This was reported to TASS by the rector of the Ural State Medical University, vice-president of the Russian Union of Pediatricians, chief freelance pediatrician of the Ural Federal District Olga Kovtun.

“We have our own vaccination post where we vaccinate 100, 200 people each. 97% of our professors have already been vaccinated. Students also understand the importance of vaccination and most of them think the same right way as their educators”, — said Olga Kovtun.

She noted that University professors, including not only infectious disease specialists but also cardiologists, pulmonologists, and many others, conduct speeches and lectures on the need for vaccination.

Ural State Medical University (USMU) was opened in 1931. Nowadays, the University is among the top hundred best universities in Russia and among the top 20 best universities in the field of Medicine and Healthcare. The University also applies the practice of double degrees and bilingual education.

In the Sverdlovsk region 2 046 342 people were vaccinated with the first component and 1 714 034 people were fully vaccinated. A collective immunity represents 45%.
