Scientific medical library named after Professor V. N. Klimov of the Ural State Medical University.

It was founded in 1931, simultaneously with the start of classes at the faculty of general medicine of the Sverdlovsk State Medical Institute.

The library is equipped with educational, scientific, reference, and informational printed and electronic publications in the field of: General medicine, preventive medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, social work.

The library contains 597,000 publications.

By the decision of the Academic Council of USMU dated on May 21, 2010 the USMU scientific medical library  was named after the doctor of medical sciences, Professor, honored science worker of Russia, rector of the Sverdlovsk State Medical Institute (1962 – 1984) Vasily Nikolayevich Klimov
